Start with YouTube

Open a video with an available subtitle track, allow YouTube Voice on the website and start playback. If the controls do not appear, reload the tab after installing the extension.

Before opening a video

Video access and subtitle access are required. Sign in to the video website in the same browser when needed and allow the extension to run there. DRM, private videos, embedded frames and missing captions can prevent translation. A website can use more than one player, so compatibility can differ between videos. The extension is disabled on Zoom sites, including illinois.zoom.us. Its presence in the website list below does not enable playback there.

Show the floating control

For Khan Academy and Three.js Journey, enable the floating control in extension settings if the player button is missing. Reload the page after changing website permissions. If a video still cannot be read, send its exact URL, browser version, whether captions are available and what happened. Do not send passwords or access tokens.
