Read a passage

1. Text reading is off by default. Enable it in the extension settings; a floating text-reading control can appear on the page.
2. Select a passage on the page, or place the pointer over the text you want to hear.
3. Press Alt+P to begin reading. Confirm the first playback request if the browser requires a user gesture before allowing audio.
4. Press Alt+O to pause or resume.

Change the voice and keys

Select your language and voice in YouTube Voice. If a shortcut is already used by the browser or another extension, change it in the browser extension shortcut settings.

Long passages

Check that the selected passage contains the intended text rather than navigation or hidden labels. Split a long passage into smaller selections if necessary. YouTube Voice uses the free voice path. Paid Azure text-speech caching and purchased credits are not enabled in this release.
